Is it over?

Is it over?

I feel like this is the number one question from 2020.  Is it over?

Covid.

Masks.

Sanitizer.

Stress.

I don’t know about you, but this has been quite a year.  My business has been seriously impacted and I have spent a large chunk of this year doing one of three things:

Absolutely nothing.

Trying to get creative.

Figuring out how to pivot.

For some businesses this has been the best year ever.

For others it has been the worst.

But for everyone, it has not been without it’s challenges and adaptations.

Of course, in every year there is always challenges but 2020 feels extra special in the stress department and I for one am hoping 2021 is much easier.

For all of us.

Transitions are...TOUGH

I am not sure where summer or my blog went but somehow it is September and I find myself in a place I was not ready for.

An empty nest.

When your kids are small you cannot WAIT for some freedom.  Freedom to sleep through the night without being woken up or crawled as everybody loves your bed more than theirs.  Freedom to eat your dinner before it’s gets cold.  And freedom to have a shower or bath without being interrupted.

And now I have it.

The freedom to do all of those things and more.  Somehow when I wasn’t looking my kids grew up, got all independent and left.  Both in other cities finding their own way, building their own dreams and making their way in the world.

Of course I am proud.

And also kind of miserable.

I don’t remember dreaming of an empty nest but if I did, I take it back.

I want my front entrance to be filled with shoes no one puts away.

I want leftover in my fridge from big family dinners.

I want it to be noisy again.

And my kids in their own beds.

I don’t have any tips on empty-nesting (yet!)

But welcome any if you do!
